Lindsay Lightley – Psychotherapist & Counsellor

Lindsay Lightley – Psychotherapist & Counsellor

I am a qualified and compassionate psychotherapist and counsellor based at Matlock Therapy Centre, offering in-person counselling in Matlock, Derbyshire, and online sessions for clients across the Peak District and surrounding towns, including Bakewell, Wirksworth, Belper, Ripley, Ashbourne and Chesterfield.

I am NCPS accredited and a BACP member, with a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice. My work is collaborative, supportive and tailored to each individual, providing a safe and non-judgemental space to explore difficulties and build emotional wellbeing.

Therapy for Adults

I support adults experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, bereavement, self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties and life transitions. Using a pluralistic approach, I draw from person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic therapies, adapting sessions to meet your needs and goals. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or seeking deeper self-understanding, I offer therapy at a pace that feels right for you.

Therapy for Children & Young People

With a background as a primary school teacher, I specialise in counselling children and young people across Matlock and the Peak District. I use creative and play-based therapeutic approaches to help children express feelings safely, particularly around anxiety, school-related stress, family changes, emotional regulation and confidence. I work sensitively with both children and parents to support positive emotional development.
