Andrea Daykin, C.Psychol, AFBPsS, UKCP Registered CAT Psychotherapist

Hello, my name is Andrea. I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and a BPS Chartered and HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist (forensic). I have 20 years’ experience working in the NHS alongside working privately for the last 8 years which has given me a wealth of experience of helping adults with a range of issues including low mood, anger, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, work related stress.

CAT is a relational and collaborative therapy that was developed to treat a range of problems including anxiety, depression, and personality difficulties. In CAT we work together to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and what you would like to change. During therapy we explore the way you think, feel and act and how your experiences earlier in life underlie these. You don’t need to have a diagnosis to access CAT, and you don’t need to consider yourself to have a mental health problem for CAT to help you make changes to your life. Your therapy will be tailored to your individual needs, drawing on other psychological approaches I am trained in.

Therapy is typically 16 sessions, but shorter or longer therapies can be offered depending on your needs and circumstances.

For further information please contact me for a free, no obligation 20 minute telephone consultation on . If I am not the appropriate therapist to help you on your journey, I shall be happy to suggest alternative ways of getting help.
