Patsy McGill – Msc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy Graduate of 3-year training in Intensive Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy

I offer short and long-term therapy to people aged 16 years onwards. The decision as to which will be decided with you to begin the collaborative relationship I create in therapy. I have extensive experience of working with a variety of difficulties, including bereavement, low self-esteem, work-related stress, depression, anxiety, relationship problems and past attachment traumas. It’s important to identify which interventions will have maximum therapeutic benefit to you so I draw on my training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, person-centred and attachment to address clients’ individual needs. I use our first meeting to work out how I can be of help to you and together, we agree therapeutic goals and areas in which you would like to see change. Consultation and collaboration are key to my way of working so that you feel in control and clear of where therapy is taking you and understand how so that when treatment ends, you feel equipped to face life without it. I can also help you if you experience medically unexplained symptoms such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue by exploring the relationship between emotional and physical health which can stop unhelpful processes and decrease symptoms.
