“Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that makes use of creative processes to help express and explore thoughts and feelings that are not always easy to put into words. You do not have to be ‘good’ at art to benefit from Art Therapy.”

Hello, my name is Jamie Bird and I am an experienced Art Psychotherapist local to Matlock. I have clinical experience of working with children, young people as well as adults in both educational and private settings. I also provide clinical supervision to training and qualified therapists.

Much of my current work involves working with autistic children and young people who have EHCP’s and require help to stay regulated and to engage with education in a productive way.

In addition to this I have many years of experience working with adults in education, including helping trainee therapists to meet their full potential. I have also worked therapeutically with refugees, asylum seekers, victims and survivors of domestic abuse, looked-after children, and people concerned about the climate crisis.

I am able to offer in-person meetings for children, young people and adults at the Matlock Therapy Centre, with availability throughout the week during the daytime and evenings. My current rate is £55 per session.
